General

If various things on the website do not work, e.g. the RV Site search, map views, buttons and others, then it may be that consent to cookies has been refused.

However, our website requires that all cookies are allowed or accepted.

We assure you, however, that all cookies set by Stellplatzfuehrer.de are purely technical and necessary for the correct use of the website.

However, for the sake of completeness, it must be mentioned that we use services of other service providers who set their own cookies. These are services such as YouTube, Google Maps, Tripadvisor and Maps by HERE. We cannot control such cookies and we do not know for which purposes these cookies are used in detail by the respective service provider. However, these services only work if their cookies are allowed. Further explanations with links to the respective data protection declarations of the service providers can be found in our data protection declaration, which is linked in the footer of each page.

We ourselves do not use any analysis tools and there are no other advertising or tracking activities on our part. In today's times, this is almost a unique selling point of which we are very proud.

In order for the site to function properly, it is therefore necessary to agree to cookies.

In order to do this, you must first delete the so-called "essential" cookies. Afterwards, you will be asked again whether you agree to all cookies when you call up the website. Please confirm this question with "Accept". Otherwise you will not be able to use our website.

If you do not know how to delete cookies from individual websites, please use a search engine with, for example, the following search text: "Delete cookies in Internet Explorer". Of course, search for the browser you are using. Known browsers are e.g. Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari.

Login and user account

To change your account data:

1. Go to menu item: PROFILE -> Settings

2. Tab „Login data“

3. Change the following fields as desired

  • username
  • email
  • current password and new password
  • Fullname

4. Click the 'Update' button when you have finished entering the data.

Problem:

Although a login has been made on the website, a login is requested again when opening a new window or tab. For the previously opened windows and tabs, a new login is also required when reloading or switching to another page.

 

Possible cause:

For the new window or tab, a bookmark or link is used in which only "http://" is prefixed instead of "https://". This can lead to the system terminating all existing connections and requesting a new login.

 

Solution:

Update all bookmarks to "https". All common browsers allow such changes to bookmarks. Often via a context menu called "Properties" or similar. There should be a field called Address or URL. This field should contain the web address to be corrected, which should look like this, for example: https://www.stellplatzfuehrer.de

There may be further sub-pages to the right of this, depending on the page to which the link or bookmark was set.

Within certain limits, everyone can determine which profile data is displayed to whom. The following authorisation and visibility groups are available for this purpose:

  • public (everyone)
  • private (you and administrators)
  • connections (friends)
  • Connections of connections (friends and their friends)

Depending on which setting is selected, only this group can see the respective data.

The privacy settings are available for certain fields or for the entire profile.

To view or change the settings, go to Edit Profile and then to the relevant tab. Each field for which a setting is possible has a drop-down list (selection list) for setting the visibility.

To lock the entire profile, go to the Profile View-Privacy tab and set the value to the right to Private.

To suppress the location on the map, there is currently only the option to delete the coordinates in the "Location" tab.

The changes made are not saved until you confirm them by clicking on the "Update" button.

The user account can be deleted by the user himself.

To do this, please go to the profile settings. In the "Login data" tab, you will find the link "Delete account and profile" in the last position.

The function deletes the account and all associated profile information after a confirmation prompt.

ATTENTION: The process cannot be reversed!

How it works explained briefly:

- Prerequisite is a valid club membership

- Select Edit Profile and enter name and address in the "Membership Card" tab and save.

- Click on the link "Show / print map" in the "About me" tab of the profile view.

- show the displayed card, print it out or copy the link (depending on your use case)

RV Sites

Important notes on copyright:
Please make absolutely sure that no copyrighted content is entered or uploaded in the form of images/photos when making entries. This may also include photos of city maps, menus and the like.
Furthermore, personal rights must be respected. Persons photographed and other identifying features (e.g. car registration plates) must be made unrecognisable, or a declaration of consent must be obtained in the sense of the DSGV.

What may I register?

Yes, we have created a form that is meant to be a thought starter. You can print it out and carry it with you in your car, for example, to note down new places on the way. At a later date, you can enter the data, possibly together with pictures and other information, in our online form.

The form is not intended or suitable for notifying us of new places or corrections in this way.

On our website there is a small menu ("hamburger menu" / three dashes one below the other) at the top right of each RV Site entry. Above this you will find the function "Report correction". Here you can tell us which information is wrong or missing.

You also have this option via the apps. In the Android app you will find the form directly in the details of the entry, in the Windows app you will find a link to our website, where you can use the function described above. We try to report corrections that are wrong or missing.

We always try to process corrections and image submissions as quickly as possible. However, because we only do this as a hobby, processing can sometimes take a few days. We apologise for this in advance.

By the way, if an assignment to your user account was possible when submitting your information or images, you will find the corresponding tickets for the correction and image messages under the menu item Service -> Helpdesk.

On our website, go to the detailed view of the respective RV Site entry and then to the "Gallery" tab. If there are not yet too many photos, you will see the button "Upload RV Site pictures". Clicking on it opens a corresponding form to send us your photos.

The apps currently do not offer this option. Therefore, you can also send us the pictures by e-mail. Please always send the e-mail with the RV Site number to bilder@stellplatzfuehrer.de

The comparative price is the price for an overnight stay for two people with a camper van, including all compulsory charges and excluding optional costs. In the case of seasonal prices, the highest prices in each case are taken into account.

Example:

A RV Site costs €10 in the high season for four adults and a camper van for the first night, €8 from the second night onwards. In low season, both amounts are €2 cheaper.

A dog costs € 2,- extra, toilet use and fresh water is free. Electricity costs a flat rate of € 2. The municipality charges a visitor's tax of € 1.50 per person per night. A rubbish disposal fee of € 1.50 is obligatory.

Comparison price = Highest fixed costs for two persons = 10 € (pitch) + 2x 1,50 € (visitor's tax) + 1,50 € (waste disposal fee) = 14,50 €.

Stellplatzfuehrer.de is available to users and operators free of charge.  We cover our costs by selling a so-called club membership to which every registered user can upgrade. Through this, some advantages are available, such as our offline apps.

In addition, we offer operators to have us recommend their place on our website in a promotionally effective way. However, this requires that the RV Site has been inspected by us and rated as recommendable. If you are interested, please contact us.

How does a free entry work?

  1. Register on our website, if you have not already done so.
    Select "Operator Account" as the account type. Follow the instructions and confirm the registration link, which will be sent by e-mail.
  2. After successful registration, please log in to the website.
  3. Now make sure that your RV Site or campsite is not yet registered with us. To do this, use our search functions.
    If the site already exists, please now read the FAQ point "I am an operator - how can I take over an entry". Otherwise, please continue with step 4.
  4. Call up the entry form via the menu item RV Sites -> Enter RV Site.
  5. In the first step, please enter the address and location data of the RV Site. In this turn, you may also be prompted to check a list of already existing RV Sites to make sure that your RV Site does not already exist.
  6. After you confirm that no entry exists yet, all form fields are unlocked and you can enter the remaining data. Fill in all relevant fields of the form as detailed and correct as possible.
  7. You can add pictures at the appropriate place in the form.
  8. Use the "Save entry" button to confirm your entries. It is advisable to save temporarily after filling in the mandatory fields so that all your entries are not lost in the event of an error. After saving, the entry is directly available online and you can add to it and update it at any time.

Note: for the registration process you need one to two minutes, for the entry ten to fifteen minutes.

  1. Register on our website, if you have not already done so.
    Select "Operator Account" as the account type. Follow the instructions and confirm the registration link, which will be sent by e-mail.
  2. After successful registration, please log in to the website.
  3. Now open the entry you would like to transfer in the detailed view. If necessary, please use our search functions.
  4. At the top right of the entry you will find a so-called hamburger menu (three horizontal lines). Expand this menu and click on the "Apply entry" button.
  5. If you are logged in with an operator account and have registered with a company e-mail address, simply click on "Send". Otherwise, please give us a short reason in the text field why you would like to take over the entry.
  6. Following this, your message will be processed by us as quickly as possible and you will be informed by us by e-mail. As a rule, this takes place within one to two working days.

Note: for the registration process you need one to two minutes, for the takeover also about two minutes.

RV Site Apps

There is an iOS and an Android app ("Stellplatzfuehrer.de") and in a cooperation a Windows app ("Wohnmobilstellplatz Finder"). All apps can be used free of charge, but with restrictions. Club members can activate the full version. The Windows app can also be upgraded to the full version via in-app purchase from partner Christian Mittring.

Problem:
The apps cannot be unlocked with the website credentials (www.stellplatzfuehrer.de).
The credentials are ignored or an error message appears that the data would be incorrect.

Possible causes:

Caution with the old Android app "SPF Mobil": If a club membership exists and the data was also entered correctly, the cause is usually the last update of the app. Please uninstall the app and reinstall it via Google Play. Saved favourites will unfortunately be lost as a result. We apologise for this.
If this does not solve your problem, please read the following information on possible problems carefully.

Common problems:

  1. You are not a club member
    Unlocking the Android app or the extended data on the Windows app requires a valid club membership. You can become a club member here.
  2. You are using an incorrect user when logging into the app. Some people have multiple user accounts and then get confused. Check that the user you are trying to unlock the app with actually has a valid club membership. If not, use the correct user or create a new club membership for the user you now want to use for the app.
  3. You have actually entered your login details incorrectly
    If you are using a password manager or have set the automatic login to the website, it could be that you have forgotten your real password. Therefore, log out of the website and try a manual login. If this works, you are sure that your login details are correct.
  4. Your password contains problematic characters
    In rare cases, it has happened that a password contained characters/special characters that caused problems during the password check and the system incorrectly rejected the activation. Therefore, try using PROFILE -> Settings in the "Login data" tab to store a simple password without special characters and then test the activation in the app. If it then works, you know the problem and can thus gradually increase the complexity of the password again.

The licence period for Christian Mittring's Windows app is initially separate and apart from the club membership at stellplatzfuehrer.de.

However, due to the cooperation with Christian, our club members can extend the licence free of charge without having to purchase a new licence via the Microsoft Store.

How it works:

After the licence expires, you should see an option in the app settings to activate it again. The access data for our website (stellplatzfuehrer.de) must then be entered here. This process checks whether you have a valid club membership with us and if so, the app licence is extended for one year from this point onwards. Once the app licence has expired, you will have to enter the access data for our website (stellplatzfuehrer.de).

To do this, simply enter the # sign followed by the RV Site number in the search. This will take you directly to the detailed view of the entry.

Please make sure that you do not enter a space before the # sign.

POI data

As a club member you have access to our POI lists for download. These lists are available in different formats for different devices.

You can find the files in the download area (Menu: Places -> Downloads).

We offer the POI data in different formats for download. All formats or files are updated daily.

The updating takes place from around midnight. This means that all changes and new entries of the current day will be found in the files the next day.

We recommend regular updating of the devices used in order to be on the move with the most current data possible.
